Hi mums, another advantage of sleeping in the sarong - the child sleeps longer too. If he shows signs of waking up, gently swing him back to sleep. The Chinese have a belief that if a baby eats well, he/she must also sleep well in order to put on weight.

But an advantage to let the baby to sleep sarong. It can make the head look rounder esp natural birth.

I understand that parents nowadays will not want to let their baby to sleep in sarong unless really no choice. I was restless during confinement days, and my son was not sleep well. Thus, I got to use the electrical swing, but so far so good. Now, he don't need to use that already, the manual one will do and only for afternoon nap. Thus, I have to prepare myself not to use saring for the 2nd baby next time. Thanks!

020205, I also dun like the sarong as I don't find it is that good a \"bed\" for bb. What I used to do when my son refused to sleep is to slowly wind down his activity..give him a bathe.. make sure that he is full etc..before putting him to bed on his matteress (he has been sleeping on his own single matteress since 6mths). sometimes bb is too over stimulated to sleep..or you can try bringing him out ..change of environment for a while to calm the bb down first before putting him to bed again

Hmmm, but I dun really like the idea of using the electrical sarong cause there is some incidence in malaysia that the parents put a baby in the electrical sarong. The baby got electrical shock and die. But I will try the methods you all advise to me. Hopefully, I can have a better sleep together with my son. Thanks!

Re: Coaxing baby to sleep Hi Sherry, Your bb is only 4mth old. My advise is try to cuddle him more & coax him to sleep if possible. Baby from newborn to 6mth need to be cuddle & loved for security. You don't have to worry about spoiling him. Like what june & mummum says, your

Hi Sherry, my son also have this problem in the 1st 3 months, once stop only awake redi! Then no choice, we bought the electrical switch for sarong to put on top on the \"sarong\". Of course switch to slow and steady mode with ur baby weight (take note of the no. of spring required according to baby weight), then can have a better sleep (especially at nite)! The electrical switch for sarong can be found in baby items shop, get the one in square box (not nice looking) that with only 2 switches, on/of

Coaxing baby to sleepHi June, I did let him sleep on sarong but he keeps wanting ppl to swing him. If we stops, he will cry until we start to swing him again. Is it because he was afraid to be alone?

Re: Coaxing baby to sleepHi Sherry do u mind letting ur boy sleep in the 'sarong'? if u dun mind, then u can try letting him sleep in the 'sarong'. My opinion is that bb will feel more sucured and also can sleep longer at one stretch.. cos they feel like being carried in their mummy's arms while sleeping.. but there r also many contributing factors too.. for e.g. - the room temp might be too warm/cold for bb(if room no air con, make sure room is airy) - he might be feeling hungry or thirsty(can try
