even cost of living nowadays are very high..2 me if we plan to have more kids doesn't matter s long s we can managed our money properly..budgeting is more important..we need to differentiate btwn necessities n wants..give more priorities on necessities first then if hve extra money then we cn fulfill our wants..n insurance also main n important roles in our life...it can helps us in the future...

i just gave birth to a baby boy 3weeks ago via c-sect. not sure if it's a good idea to be pregnant again after this. doctors suggest to wait at least 2yrs before i should get pregnant again, and considering my age, a later pregnancy might be very risky. well, who knows?

“Hi, I’m Georgina, CareLine Supervisor / Mum from Danone Dumex.

I have always wanted 2 kids…a boy and a girl. God has answered my prayer as I have 2 beautiful children; a girl, 17 years old and a boy, 9 years old.
I cherish the quality time I spend with them. Watching them blossom and grow up makes me so very proud. Don’t just be a mother to your children, be a friend as well.”

Hi jancho, I envy your desire for a 3rd child. It's really a tough and expensive decision to go for a third esp when you have a girl and boy already. However, if you have strong family support, it's good to have another child.

Following on is the next stage of schooling and stress. My son is 5. Next year, we will have to register him for P1 and that's when stress will come in. Hi Irene, confinement now is not as strict as before. However, try to observe certain \"rules\" like lying down in bed to rest as much as possible and eating your food when it's hot. \"Cooling\" and cold food like water melon, oranges and cabbage best to avoid.

Hi IRENEC, my mum cooked a few dishes for my confinement, repeated sometimes as I dislike eating traditional confinement food. Most of the time she uses sesame oil to stir fry the chicken or pork and put in few slices of ginger. I am bf, as such can't eat too much ginger. Kailan with fish is nice with lots of pepper. How about chicken with \"mu er\" ? Mu er is supposed to cleanse the body of blood after childbirth.

Hi Jolene, I'm expressing out 240ml at every 5 hours session. But, I'm in the midst of weaning her to formula, so I just put in 1 ounce of bm into her milk. I thought of giving her a bottle of plain bm once a day, but if I do that, she will not drink the mixed formula. It's been quite a while since I brought my son for his speech therapy sessions because of the clash of timings. Thus I have no choice but to switch my girl to formula. Otherwise I would continue to give her bm until she is 1.

Hi ladies, this is janet using a temporary ID. Hopefully, my usual ID name can be used again. I've got a friend who delivered 2 children. She doesn't believe in confinement food, but ate a lot of fish because of breast feeding. In fact, she still gives her younger child breast milk twice a day even though he is already 13 months. That's because her in-laws specially buy fresh omega-rich fish for her to eat every week. Lucky woman My girl is drinking 4 ounces of formula with 1 ounce of bm.

Hi zhining, i forgot to add that one too. don't drink water standing up esp those who gave birth naturallly. Also don't squat after giving birth. Before giving birth, can squat because the thigh muscles need to be relaxed so as to allow flexibility during labour. All these not old wives tales but very true

Hi mums, during confinement we must still remember basic hygiene. Like what garfay said, already sweating and leaking breasts, if don't shower sure to smell. Private area must be clean to prevent infection. Of course, take warm shower lah and don't fall sick. But must not carry heavy things even after confinement or the uterus will drop. Lie down in bed to rest our backbone. It sounds like a lot of old wives tales but it is really for our own good.

Yeah how can not shower one. You are sweating bucket loads, leaking breast and bleeding down there. No shower? Yuck!!! But I think ginger is nessassary to get rid of wind. If you are breastfeeding, just eat normal meal as your family. But drink ginger water. Just boil a few slices of ginger in about half cup of water, once or twice a day will do. It is important not to get chills during confinement that is true, so avoid air-con and shopping. Also don't lift heavy things.

Hi mums, I was always having \"wind\" cough after my 1st child. Always bathing during that month of confinement and not eating enough ginger to get rid of the wind. So I guess my 2nd baby came as a blessing in disguise - gave me a chance to eat tonics and build up my health again. My sister-in-law wore singlets during her confinement and stayed in the air con whole day. Health also weak, always MC. Not all old wives tales are crazy, have to believe in some. After all, it's we who suffer later. If there

Hi daphne, just believe in some old wives tale lor. It does make sense to some degree. For example, after giving birth there is a lot of wind in the body. Not eating cooling food/drinks/fruits is for the benefit of the new mother. After all, it's only 1 month. But don't bathe cannot lah. I like to smell nice feeding my baby. Just take care not to fall sick during confinement or the health will suffer.

Hi garfay, I broke some of the rules during my confinement. I wore long pants and t-shirt during the 1st 2 weeks. Towards the end, I wore shorts and t-shirt. Bathed twice a day because I was perspiring like crazy and smelt terrible - can't afford not to bathe because I was breast feeding and leaking badly due to the engorgement. As for red/black dates tea, I love the taste of it. In fact, I want to drink it again when the weather is cooler (Nov/Dec). But I didn't drink chicken of essence because I hated

Ya... During my last confinement, I found that it's more tough than the 10mths pregnant. But, still try to follow as much as possible. It's very important to take urself during confinement days. Although old folks method has too many to follow, there're some still good to maintain. Like, bath in slight warm water (better if using the water boiled with herbs) during good weather, don't take too long or wash ur hair everyday, if want to do so, must quickily dry it. Hi mums, we must really take care of our bodies during the month of confinement. Some problems won't arise now because we are still young and the body can take it. We need to be healthy in order to take care of the kids. For my 1st pregnancy, I didn't realize the importance. Always getting cough due to too much 'wind' but with 2nd baby, I took care to bathe only when the sun is up and before 6pm. Nights, I wore long pants to sleep and without the air con. Hi garfay, Symptoms won't be out so fast till older for certain people. For me, I didn't care sometimes, I do rinse my leg becos I was so sticky, after confinement, you know what? both of my knee cap so aching and painful especially when I walk up and down the staircase. From there, I really really believe that somehow it will affect our body if we take bath too often during confinement. Alot of wind will go in. Not only that after the confinement lady went off, I clean and wash bottles, wash hands too

Hi abmuazha, confinement is really not a big deal nowadays. Unless you are doing it the \"Zoe Tay\" method of not bathing and wearing socks. Hot it may be, I also stayed away from the air-con. The only thing to avoid is cooling food/vegetables like water melon (cabbage), chocolates, ice cream and soft drinks, basically anything cold. I managed to stay away from all these food during my pregnancy and up till my baby was about 5 months old because I was breast feeding her.

Hi Bee Tin and Leanmei, Well, I prepared my son for his sister's arrival started at the time when I went for pre-natal check up (we would bring him to every check up). My hubby and I would point to him that there is a baby inside of me and show him the ultrasound. As my tummy gets bigger we would tell him to kiss my tummy, meaning that he is kissing his sister. But he does get jeolous occasionally when I carry my gal, he would want me to carry him as well. So what I do is sit on the couch with my gal

Hello mommies........ I understand sometimes it's really stressful to have our kids tagging along with us whenever we go, especially full time mothers like me. Especially when we bring them out & they are alittle playful at times, a little cranky, sometimes just can't sit still for us to carry them. But then again, if we think of it in another way, when I bring my gal out shopping, visiting, go for gathering, etc, I tell myself, I'm exposing my gal to the surrounding & ppl around her, which is go

hi Jeantan, Thanks for the advice,i guess 2 to 3 years will be just nice.If the 1st child is too young below 2 years it seems difficult for parents to cope with so many things. Its too tired for the mother too.I probably will try to conceive again early next year.Well...well... i think our Singapore Gov will be very happy to know most mummies do not have 1 child policy in their mind.It seems like most of them prefer more than 2 children.i guess it is only the cost of raising a kid that sometimes make us

Hi Mamisim, it's advise not to bring baby under 6 months out for shopping for too long at a time. Baby tend to be sensitive to the env and air condition... They might be very excited but end out wake up and crying at night!

I agree that we should have some time to ourselves. I spent most of my time with my son during the first 6 mths. Slowly I started going out with my gfs once a fortnight. Now that my boy is 2+yrs. I go out more often with my gfs. At least you get to chill out from work and home. It is good. Intend to have at least 3 children if possible. If not, minimum is two. I am planning to try for a 2nd one next year as I intend to travel as much as possible this year before I conceive.

Hi Mamisim, dont because of your one time experience and decide to stop bringing your girl out.She will see and learn less things if u let her stay indoor for too long.I think she is just anxious about the things around her.I have a hard time with my boy too when he was 4 months plus, every time when we go shopping , he will not sleep in his stroller or in my arms even if he is very tired. He will make noise and endure until we reach home then he will sleep well.I started training him by bringing him out soon

HI Mommies, here's the problem again! Yeah! some of my friends also keep complaining me not join for the gathering there oganise too... i feel so sorry & sad for it. What I'm thinking is why not we invite some of them to our house, so our baby could recognise there face & get close with them . train her to sit on a baby chair n having dinner with us .so next time out for gathering at least there is someone she ever seen & she won't get afraid from them. I keep trying invite

Leanmei, U working full time or stay home? I find it difficult to bring along my bb for gatherings too... she will not sit still for long....so, have to entertain her rather than enjoy the meal or watever... so have to wait till my bb is older, than think abt gathering or can arrange for friends to gather in each others house? Tat way, easier for you!!!
