Every woman’s dream is to become a mother some day. However, not every one of us is fortunate enough to become one.

Being a mum is a wonderful gift from God and it’s hard to compare that with any other experiences in this world. It is a unique experience that every woman should cherish. It is sad that in some societies, a woman is considered incompetent if she is unable to conceive.

I can still recall my fear when my second child, Malcolm had not started speaking by 3 plus. His sister, however, started her first words at the age of 8 month plus! Malcolm did utter his first words (papa, mama, che che) once when he was 1 ½ years old and that was it!

I had bouts of morning sickness in my first trimester but my appetite remained the same as before I was pregnant. As my due date ap

Mum’s story on “surviving a critical pregnancy”

When I was 3 months pregnant, I had a test and the test results sent a chill down my spine! I was told my baby had a 99% chance of having Down syndrome. I was in shock! Was this really happening to me?

The doctor suggested that I go for Ultrasound Screening. I could see my baby swimming in my womb. She looked like a mouse, active and so cute! I couldn’t imagine my baby with Down syndrome.

The doctor then suggested that I go through another Amniocentesis. That night,
