“Health always starts from inside out,” proclaims Min Yi, our CareLine Advisor who is a nutritionist. “Instilling a good eating habit and a healthy lifestyle in young children would help them tremendously in staying strong and fit when they grow up” she continues. “During my spare time, I am drawn to any TV programmes that focuses on nutrition and I especially love cooking programmes” she enthuses. “However, my cooking may not be the best…but it’s nutritious!” she laughs.

Tips
  • Try and offer a range of different coloured fruit and vegetables as they all contain different nutrients.
  • Milk should be part of your toddler’s diet every day but be sure to include other calcium rich dairy food too
  • Make sure their eating environment is kept calm and they’re concentrating on their meal – so no TV!
  • Give your toddler praise when they finish a meal or enjoy a healthy snack
  • Your toddler's tummy is at least 5 times smaller than yours, so they’ll need to eat small amounts of energy and nutrient-rich foods frequently throughout the day.
